Jackson County Walks: Pedestrian Plan & Greenway Master Plan
The County is creating a Pedestrian Plan and updating their Greenway Master Plan. When complete, these will be guiding documents that provide a path to building sidewalks, crossings, greenways and other infrastructure in the County. The project is guided by a Steering Committee that includes staff from local, county and state government as well as other community partners and stakeholders. Two community meetings are planned, both will take place in northern and southern ends of the County.
Jackson County is a place where anyone, regardless of age, ability, or socio-economic background can safely travel as a pedestrian for transportation and recreation, and where walking is fostered to create a prosperous and livable community for our children and future generations.
Join us for an upcoming Community Meeting. The purpose of the meeting will be to present current conditions findings for walking in the County, as well as ask participants to share destinations, challenges and opportunities for using pedestrian and greenway facilities.
